Prevent Plans

The Animal Medical Center of Forney's Wellness Plans, are not insurance. Instead, these plans for dogs or cats offer discounted and affordable packages of most recommended preventive treatments in order to save you money and deliver affordable care to your pet in key areas: Unlimited office exams, dental cleaning, parasite screening and control, nutrition and vaccinations. At Animal Medical Center of Forney our Wellness Plans are designed and based on the Pet’s life-stage.

A puppy or kitten would be able to receive spay/neuter and the pet owner in turn receives a scheduled monthly payment covering spay/neuter, as well as, the recommended treatments, vaccinations, parasite screening and control to name a few that are included in the plan.

As the pet’s life-stage progresses dental cleanings under general anesthesia take on more importance. (It’s estimated that 85% of all pets have periodontal disease by age 3.)  Over time left untreated the bacteria associated with periodontal disease can travel in the bloodstream to infect the heart, kidneys and liver causing irreversible and long term effects.  The Adult Wellness Plan offers an affordable and convenient way to pay for and provide this valuable treatment along with other widely recommended treatments for your pet.

At what age is a pet considered a senior? It can vary, but cats and small dogs are generally considered old at the age of 7, while most large breed dogs are considered a senior when they reach the 6 year mark. Senior pet exams are similar to those for younger pets, but are more in depth, including dental care, bloodwork, and specific checks for physical signs of diseases that are more likely in older pets. Senior pets can develop many of the same problems seen in older people, such as, cancer, heart disease, kidney/urinary tract disease, liver disease, diabetes, joint or bone disease (arthritis), senility, and overall weakness. The Adult Wellness Plan provides continued Dental Cleanings along with Comprehensive Lab Analysis and veterinary screenings to provide early detection of possible issues with aging pets.
